Wood MC display

This box is used to display the average wood MC (MC - moisture content) and also wood MC measured on each probe.

The LED display shows the measured average wood moisture content, Only data from active probes are calculated. Measured data from each probe is shown below LED display. If a probe is set to passive mode, it is colored gray. Active probes are shown in black. Up to eight wood MC probes can be shown. The actual number depends on the model of controller used.

Right-click mouse button on actual wood MC to open submenu where probe can be set to active or passive state.

The choice of ways of calculating average

Right click on the box to display the Wood moisture opens the popup menu for selecting the average.

Option average takes into account all active and correct probes and the average of these accounts (for example: (41.0 + 20.8 + 15.6 + 12.5) / 4 = 22.5). In this mode, the user selects the probe that will be active and which passive.

In auto mode the user can not choose the status of the probe, the automatic  is determined to be active and which passive. Sum the value of all the correct probes and calculate the average. The probes that have a value around these average values become active and the other passive. From such active probes the average is calculated, which is used as a statement of moisture in the wood. Scope around the average value is shown by parameter Auto cut off[%] in Tools>System table.

Example:

Average of all the probes is 75,5 + 41,0 + 20,8 + 15,6 + 12,5 + 9,5 + 7,4 + 5,1 = 23,4;

Auto cut off = 40%, 40 % od 23,4 = 9,4;

Scope around the mean value (23,4 ± 9,4) = from 14,0 to 32,8. Probes that are included in this range are 20,8 and 15,6 and only one active and the other passive.

An average of these active probes is (20,8 + 15,6) / 2 = 18,2

In slow mode the user can not choose the status of the probe, the automatic  is determined to be active and which passiv. Sum the value of all the correct probes and calculate the average. The probes that have a value above the average value becomes active and the other passive. From such active probes the average is calculated, which is used as a statement of moisture in the wood. Scope above the average value is shown by parameter Auto cut off[%] in Tools>System table.

Example:

Average of all the probes is 75,6 + 41,0 + 20,8 + 15,6 + 12,5 + 9,5 + 7,4 + 5,1 = 23,4;

Auto cut off = 40%, 40 % od 23,4 = 9,4;

Above the mean value is (23,4 - 9,4) = 14,0 ; Probes that are included in this range are 75,6 + 41,0 + 20,8 + 15,6 and only one active and the other passive.

An average of these active probes is (75,6 + 41,0 + 20,8 + 15,6) / 4 = 38,3

In fast mode the user can not choose the status of the probe, the automatic  is determined to be active and which passiv. Sum the value of all the correct probes and calculate the average. The probes that have a value below the average value becomes active and the other passive. From such active probes the average is calculated, which is used as a statement of moisture in the wood. Scope below the average value is shown by parameter Auto cut off[%] in Tools>System table.

Example:

Average of all the probes is 75,6 + 41,0 + 20,8 + 15,6 + 12,5 + 9,5 + 7,4 + 5,1 = 23,4;

Auto cut off = 40%, 40 % od 23,4 = 9,4;

Below the mean value is (23,4 + 9,4) = 32,8 ; Probes that are included in this range are 20,8 + 15,6 + 12,5 + 9,5 + 7,4 + 5,1 and only one active and the other passive.

An average of these active probes is (20,8 + 15,6 + 12,5 + 9,5 + 7,4 + 5,1) / 6 = 11,8
