Automatic control unit MC-100 is a device that automatically controls drying process in conventional kilns installed by our company "NIGOS". Unlike automatic control units used in dehumidifying kilns which use ON/OFF type of control, MC-100 uses PI and ON/OFF type of control.

This device is based on automatic control unit MC-100R which is modified to improve the drying in conventional kilns.

MC-100RM is mainly intended for use in large drying systems. In those systems it is very common that control and surveillance equipment far all dryers in system is placed in one common room. Actual kiln which is controller can be significantly far from operator room (up to 300m). Control signals which control the operation of equipment inside the kiln can be transferred at this distance with no significant problems. Signals obtained from probes (temperature, EMC and MC) can not be transferred at this distance without loss. That is why equipment in the kiln is connected directly to MC-100RM, while measurement signals are transferred indirectly through measurement-communication unit MKM-01. Measurement boxes DS-03 (standard configuration include 2 boxes DS-03) are connected to MKM-01 using LIYCY 10x0.34 -T cables delivered by "NIGOS". MKM-01 unit is connected to MKM-01 is connected to MC-100RM using LIYCY 3x0.5 cable. Communication standard RS-485 is used according to S-NIGOS communication protocol developed by "NIGOS" experts.

Unlike older devices, MC-100RM has switches for manual control of drying process. Introducing this ability has multiple increased functionality of the device.

MC-100RM achieves optimum conditions for wood drying inside the chamber through air temperature and humidity control. MC-100RM controls its relay outputs automatically, semi-automatically or user can do it manually based on data obtained from temperature and EMC probes (in 2 points) and MC probes (obtained from 6 points). In addition, control of drying process is adjusted according to user settings.

In automatic operation mode, MC-100RM follows chosen drying schedule (regime). There are 12 invariable (built-in) schedules which are inserted in unit's memory by "NIGOS" during production and which can not be changed. User has an ability to make its own schedules. These schedules are memorized in unit's memory, always available and can be altered at any time. There is a pre-reserved place in the units memory for 8 user schedules.

In semi-automatic operation mode user set the desired values for temperature and EMC based on personal experience and measured wood MC and automatic control unit MC-100RM only tries to maintain this values inside the chamber.

In manual operation mode, buttons and switches on the lower part of device are used. Switches give the user an ability to choose manual control of heating valve, servo-controlled flaps and sprinklers for spraying. Buttons are used to turn the equipment for which manual mode is selected ON or OFF. These buttons have no function if other mode is selected. While in manual operation mode, the MC-100RM unit only displays measured values for T, EMC and MC, but it has no influence on the relay outputs. User himself must control temperature and humidity by pressing the appropriate buttons.

After power failure, if it was started, drying will automatically continue when power is reconnected starting from measured wood MC.

Automatic control unit is delivered with following equipment included (standard configuration):

  • Automatic control unit MC-100RM: 1 pcs
  • Measurement unit MKM-01: 1 pcs
  • Measurement boxes DS-03 with fitted temperature probes: 2 pcs
  • EMC paper holder which is fitted on DS-03 box: 2 pcs
  • EMC paper in quantity sufficient for 2 years drying: 1 set
  • Set of wood MC probes for different wood thickness: 1 set
  • Cables for boxes connection
  • Tephlone cables for wood MC measurement: 8m x 6 pcs 

In case of user's special request, or if it is necessary for quality drying in specific dryer, additional equipment is delivered. Since 1 or 2 measurement units MKM-01 can be connected to MC-100RM unit, each with different number and type of measurement boxes (DS-03, DS-04, D-02 and others), there is a possibility of making several specific system configurations and achieve wood MC measurement in 8 point maximum.

Warranty for automatic control unit MC-100RM is 5 years.
